How the Set and Rep Counter Works

The Set and Rep Counter counts reps inside the current set, moves to the next set when the target reps are reached and starts a rest timer between sets.

  1. Set the plan: Enter sets, reps per set and rest time, such as 4 × 10 with 90 seconds rest.
  2. Tap per rep: Each tap adds 1 rep to the current set.
  3. Rest between sets: At the rep target, the rest timer starts and counts down.
  4. Finish the workout: After the last set, the tool shows total reps and total time.

Set and Rep Counter Formula

The Set and Rep Counter total reps equal sets multiplied by reps per set. Session time equals working time plus rest time between sets.

Total reps = Sets × Reps | Session time = Sets × Set time + (Sets − 1) × Rest

Example: A 5 × 8 plan with 40 s per set and 120 s rest gives 40 reps. Session time = 200 s + 480 s = 680 s (11 min 20 s).

About the Set and Rep Counter

A Set and Rep Counter is a workout tracker that counts repetitions within sets and sets within an exercise. The built-in rest timer keeps rest periods consistent.

Training plans are written as sets × reps, such as 3 × 10. Rest periods affect results: the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) suggests 2 to 3 minutes between heavy sets for strength.
