Privacy & Data Protection Policy

TouchCounter respects user privacy with a zero tracking, zero remote data logging architecture.

Zero Server Telemetry Notice: TouchCounter runs entirely in your local browser sandbox. No touch coordinates, tapping frequencies, counter tallies, or hardware IDs are transmitted to external servers.

This policy explains how we use data when you visit touchcounter.com. Fahad Shoaib owns and runs the site. It tells you what we need to run the tools, why we need it and what rights you may have.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Our tap counter and all 138 tools run on your device. Here is what that means for your data:

  • No Account Required: You never need to register, log in, or provide credentials to use TouchCounter or any of its subtools.
  • No Touch Tracking or Coordinate Storage: Pointer coordinates (X, Y) and multi-finger pressure data are processed strictly in temporary device memory to render the canvas ripples and live metrics. They are never logged or transmitted and are discarded immediately upon touch release.
  • No Audio Recording: All sound effects are generated locally via mathematical oscillator synthesis using the Web Audio API; your microphone is never accessed.
  • No Analytics or Advertising: We do not use third-party analytics software (such as Google Analytics), advertising networks, tracking pixels, or device fingerprinting scripts.

2. Information That Is Processed

We use some data to load the site and keep it safe. We also use what you choose to send us:

  • Technical connection data: When your browser requests any page on touchcounter.com, our hosting and content-delivery network receives standard HTTP request data such as your IP address, browser user-agent, requested URL, referring page, and timestamp. This is technically required to deliver web assets securely and to defend against abusive traffic (e.g. DDoS mitigation).
  • Contact form and email messages: If you voluntarily send a message through our Contact Us page or email us directly, we receive your name, email address, inquiry topic, and message content solely to respond to your request.

3. Cookies, Local Storage & Session State

We do not use cookies or ad IDs to track you on this site or other sites. Counts, times, step sizes and themes stay in the open tab. The main counter resets when you reload or close it. We do not use tracking cookies or keep profiles, so we do not show a cookie consent box.

4. Third-Party Services

A few outside services help us run the site. They use data to do the jobs listed below:

  • Hosting & content delivery: serves the website files and processes the technical connection data described above.
  • Google Fonts: the site's typefaces are loaded from Google's font servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which receive your IP address and browser information when the fonts are requested. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Contact form delivery: messages submitted through our contact form are forwarded to our inbox by a form-processing service, FormSubmit, which handles them under its own privacy terms.
  • Email provider: stores the messages you send us and our replies.

We do not sell, rent or share your data for marketing.

5. Exported Session Data

When you choose Export Session CSV or Copy Summary, your device makes the file or text. You control the copy you save.

6. Legal Basis & Data Retention

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on our legitimate interest to run a safe site and answer your notes. We may also use a note to take steps you ask for before a contract. Our host keeps logs for its short security retention period. We keep contact notes only as long as we need to answer you and deal with follow-up, then delete them.

7. Your Rights

The rights you have depend on where you live. You may be able to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate information or delete your information;
  • object to or ask us to restrict certain processing;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw any consent you have given, at any time; and
  • lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

People in California and other US states may also have rights to see, delete or correct their data. We will not treat you worse for using these rights. We do not sell or share data for targeted ads, so there is no sale or ad sharing to opt out of.

8. Children's Privacy

This tool is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If a child has sent us a note, tell us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may change this policy when the site or the law changes. Check the date below for the latest update. We will highlight major changes on this page.

10. Contacting Us About Privacy

To ask about your data or use your rights, email privacy@touchcounter.com. You can also use our contact page. We reply to privacy requests within 30 days.
