How the People Touch Counter Works
The People Touch Counter adds 1 for each person you see, using one large tap target that you hit without looking at the screen. Optional buttons split the count by group, such as adults and children.
- Stand at a fixed point: Choose a spot where each person passes once, such as a doorway.
- Tap once per person: Tap as each person crosses your counting line.
- Split by group: Use separate buttons for adults, children or staff when needed.
- Read the headcount: The total shows the number of people counted.
People Touch Counter Formula
The People Touch Counter headcount equals the sum of all group counts. Counting accuracy equals the counted total divided by the true total.
- Adults, Children, Other
- Group tallies
- Counted
- Headcount from the counter
- Actual
- True number from a ticket scan or roll call
Example: A guide counts 38 adults and 14 children, a headcount of 52. The booking list shows 53 people. Accuracy = 52 ÷ 53 × 100 = 98.1%.

About the People Touch Counter
A People Touch Counter is a manual headcount tool that records one tap for each person. The tool replaces the handheld tally clicker used by ushers and tour guides.
Manual counting stays accurate up to about 30 to 40 people per minute per counter. Above that rate, splitting the flow into lanes with one counter each keeps errors low.
